I wanted to select a hi hat, but there were like 50 options. There was a huge list of instruments, samples, synthesizers, that I didn’t know how to use, and that I didn’t know how they sounded. I am writing this article because when I started to make beats, it was really difficult to know how to select sounds. However, there are some tips you can learn here that will help you with the process of finding the perfect sounds for your music, instead of being just randomly clicking your mouse on a long list of sampled sounds.
You need to audit the sounds and see which ones work for the idea you have in mind. So, I wanted to share my experience.Īt the beginning, the way we choose sounds or instruments for when we want to produce a song is just by listening to a lot of sampled instruments and sounds.
